Even in the beautiful postcards of our city
we’re there, maybe you can't see
us, because we were sitting at home,
or too small:
The photo was taken from a passing plane.

The lockdown summoned sights of another Jerusalem: Still buildings, empty streets, and abandoned markets. There is nothing more surreal than watching a bustling city turning into a ghost town, a city stripped off its residents. In their works, illustrators Or Bar-El and Lee Dror engaged in a dialogue with this reality. Through the figures illustrated on the photos, they breathe life back into the empty space and at the same time underscore its absence.
